What is a meta tag?

Meta data describes the data

Meta tags are often used to assist in search engine optimization (SEO)

Since the meta tag doesn't contain any content, we sometimes use a shortcut and add /> at the end of the tag

What is a div tag?

It is a container

They are considered generic containers that can contain any elements that the user puts in

Tend to be used to group items for the purpose of formatting them in CSS

Can have multiple divs in a single document unlike html, head, and body

Can even have divs inside of divs

Div and Span

Divs works on a block level while span work on in inline level

Divs starts a new line and has width equal to page or parent container while span does not start a new line

They both are a generic container

They both are non-semantic tags, meaning the tags don't have any meaning or tell us about what is stored inside of them
